Description

Chicken Haleem is a rich, slow-cooked dish with a wholesome mixture of chicken, lentils, nuts and broken wheat. This is one of the most popular dish in Hyderabadi cuisine. Legend has it that it takes nearly a week to make a perfect dish of haleem, but my 7-8 hours of slow cooking give it an amazing flavor and texture- you'll be licking your lips after a satisfying meal. Served with a whole wheat naan.

Ingredients

chicken, onion, rose petals, green chilis, ghee, dalia (broken wheat), oats, almonds, bengal gram, red lentil, cumin, cloves, cinnamon, peppercorn, cardamom, coriander, flour, sugar, yeast, milk

I love Chef Nasreen's food, and the flavor was amazing on this dish. However, I was expecting larger pieces of chicken in the stew. Rather the chicken feels like it's almost dissolved into the stew.

Delightfully spicy. Perfect over the accompanying rice. One of my instant Add To Carts. :)

First week in and Chef Nasreen hit a home run. I enjoy heavy spice and this dish kept my taste buds engaged without needing to hit the spice as hard as I'm accustomed too. Even my spouse who doesn't like spicy foods enjoyed this dish. Definitely looking forward to the next dish from this talented chef.

This was very good but I wish the description would have noted that it is quite spicy. Also, it would be nice if there was a way to order extra naan.

This dish is so much spicier than it is played out to be. It was too hot for me, and I couldn't eat it. My husband loved it. I would say it was a 4 out of 5 for spice. If you can handle and enjoy that much spice, then you will love this dish.
