Born in Bangkok and raised on Capitol Hill, I grew up with my Mother's authentic Thai cooking. My Mom and I actually used to make fish sauce fermented in large clay pots from scratch, long before there were any imported Thai items available in Seattle.
Kao Kra Pow Kai, or Thai basil chicken, is made with ground chicken, wok fried with garlic, Thai chili, green beans and spicy basil, and then topped with fried egg over Jasmine rice. This is perhaps the most popular and most beloved street food dish in all of Thai cuisine!
Chicken, garlic, Thai chili, green bean, basil, fried egg, fish sauce, dark soy, sugar, jasmine rice
Delicious! I added the egg room temp to not overcook it
Wonderful. Moist, tasty, loved it even though veggies may have been over cooked.
