Description

A Thanksgiving feast with some unique twists! Traditional roasted turkey is served with wild mushroom and sage dressing, sweet potato crunch, roasted garlic smashed potatoes, brussels sprouts with sweet roasted grapes, homestyle gravy and cranberry sauce. Finish it all off with my take on a classic fall dessert: salted caramel apple crumble.

Ingredients

turkey (turkey, oil, salt, spices),

wild mushroom and sage dressing (French bread, onion, celery, carrot, herbs, stock, vegan butter (palm fruit, soybean, flax, canola, and olive oils, salt, soy protein, lactic acid, annatto extract), sage, wild mushrooms, salt, pepper)

roasted garlic smashed potatoes (red potatoes, milk, butter, roasted garlic, canola oil, salt, pepper),

sweet potato crunch (sweet potatoes, brown sugar, butter, flour, salt, pecan),

brussels sprouts (brussels sprouts, roasted garlic, olive oil, red seedless grapes, salt, pepper),

turkey gravy (turkey stock, cornstarch, oil, salt, pepper, garlic),

cranberry sauce (fresh cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, salt, pepper),

salted caramel apple crumble (crust (butter, flour, sugar, cinnamon), apple filling (apple, sugar, cinnamon, flour), streusel topping (flour, butter, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon), salted caramel (sugar, butter, cream, sea salt))

Except for the turkey, this meal was not good and we would not want to do Thanksgiving with this chef again. Items were very salty, the stuffing needed more texture and was mushy and dry, the potatoes had an odd vinegar taste in them that didn't belong, the sweet potatoes lost any crunch they may have had and were mushy, and the brussel sprouts were overcooked. I heard one person say everything seemed the same. The somewhat pureed, mushy consistency of the items definitely made it feel that way. They also did not package the food for two separate lines which made things much more difficult.
