Description

Chicken thigh, oyster mushrooms, and green onions, simmered in a silky, aromatic, coconut broth. This classic Thai dish is brought to life by the intense flavors of lemongrass, galangal, and kaffir lime leaves. I serve this soup with a side of jasmine rice.

Ingredients

chicken thigh, oyster mushrooms, green onions, coconut milk, chicken stock, galangal, lemongrass, lime leaf, lime juice, thai chili, fish sauce, sugar

Done right with a flavorful broth, oyster mushrooms (not the cheap crimini mushrooms often used in this area) and good quality chicken.

Pretty close to traditional Tom Kha Gai soup! Next time maybe offer it with shrimp? Yum!

Tom Kha Gai is my favorite soup in the universe, so I am quite picky. This exceeded my expectations. It isn't award winning, but it can hold its own against most Thai restaurants.

Make no mistake. This was a beautiful milky broth. I read the fine print and I removed 3/4 cup of twigs, leaves, and roots. I accidentally bit into a very hot pepper. This is a choice for an adventurous spirit.

It is good, but the amount you receive is not worth the price.
