Jakarta style steamed rice cooked in coconut milk and aromatic herbs. Served with chili sauce, twice cooked egg (hard boiled & deep fried), and chicken poached in turmeric-based herb stock.
Turmeric Chicken and Chili Egg (chicken, cherry tomato, egg, shallot, garlic, candle nut, galangal, ginger, coriander, salt, sugar, turmeric, thai chili pepper, lemongrass, bay leaves, kaffir lime leaves), Coconut Rice (rice, coconut milk, herbs)
This was a very hearty and satisfying meal. It was not super spicy (which is perfect, IMO), yet very flavorful. It was almost more food than I could eat. A great comfort food option.
Great addition to the line up. Indonesia is a crossroads of different cultural cuisines and this expresses it well. Very delicious.
