My name is James Park, owner/chef of Chili and Sesame Korean Kitchen. When my wife and I, born and raised in Korea, started the restaurant about 5 years ago, we had a mission of providing quality home cooked style Korean meals to our customers with a great service at a reasonable price.

I have acquired a certification that was given to owner/chefs by Korea’s Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries after completing their training. The course was led by the president of Food & Culture Korea Academy, Kim Soo Jin, a leading food critic in Korea. She also directed many food scenes in popular Korean movies and dramas.

Besides the training, I continuously work/consult with several other Korean chefs to improve the foods we serve. One of them was a chef with over 30 years of Korean foods experience, including work as a chief chef in charge of Korean foods section in famous restaurant in New York. The other I regularly consult with is a chef at famous KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) university.

With all these ongoing trainings and consultations, I strive to accomplish our mission of serving the best quality home cooked style Korean meals with a great service at a reasonable price. As an owner/chef, I also feel proud of being one of the Korean restaurants evangelizing the good qualities of traditional Korean foods to the customers. ;)
