Vegan Étouffeé served with rice, Creole salad with a creamy Creole dressing, and cornbread. Étouffeé literally means "smothered"- which this dish is, in Creole sauce!
Creole etouffee (squash, okra, onion, celery, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, flour, vegetable bouillon, basil, granulated onion and garlic, black pepper, cayenne pepper, bay leaves), salad (kale and greens mix, zucchini, yellow squash, black olives, green olives, cucumbers, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes), creamy Creole dressing (mayonnaise, buttermilk, Italian herbs, Cajun seasoning), cornbread (cornmeal, flour, buttermilk, butter, sugar, eggs, leavening), rice
Well received meal from both meat and veggie eaters. Labeling of special meat/vegan dishes was confusing. Taste and packaging wise, 4 Stars.
Chicken Jamablaya was excellent. Veggie Etouffe was average. Would be nice to have less packaging (Meal/Salad/dressing/cornbread was all separate) for ease when transporting to other locations and individual pickup. Would enjoy eating this meal again. 4 Star.
