The idea for Macrina Bakery & Cafe existed long before we opened our doors. The seed was planted while Leslie Mackie was in cooking school and continued to take root throughout her early restaurant career and during her travels.

This was a unique meal for us at Ai2 and it was a nice addition to our menu. With an international employee-base, it's important to offer global flavors so we'd do this again. The fresh tomato salad was a great compliment to the other heartier foods. The quantities were appropriate.
5-star meal loved it. Only wish there was such thing as compostable bowls. Flavors were exceptional, broth was piping hot (important!) and it was a nice change. We will surely do this again. Chicken was more popular than beef at both locations. Need a better system for broth; bowls did not fit under the pour spout. We used mugs to pour broth (EL pulled containers over the edge, but we were too scared to do that and shouldn't have to. Suggest risers next time for broth containers.
